Arthur Yezekyan

Arthur Yezekyan was born on February 6, 1966, in the village of Akhuryan, in the Shirak region of Armenia, a place that shaped his early understanding of life, work, and creativity.

From a young age, he chose a technical path in education. Between 1983 and 1990, he studied at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Cybernetics, graduating in automation and telemechanics. However, his interests soon expanded beyond engineering, leading him toward the world of media and communication.

In the early 1990s, he took his first steps in television by founding the “Tsayg” TV company in Gyumri (1990–1994). This period became his first experience in building a local media platform capable of reflecting public voice and shaping a new communication culture.

Since 1994, he has been the driving force behind one of his most significant initiatives — the founding of “Shant” TV. The channel began broadcasting in Yerevan in 2000 and gradually developed into one of Armenia’s leading media networks, known for its diverse content and innovative television formats. In 1998, he also founded “Shant” Radio, expanding his media activity into radio broadcasting.

Arthur Yezekyan’s contribution goes beyond management. He is also the author of numerous television projects and concepts, including comedy programs, the public-political show “Bridge,” and the analytical program “View from the North,” all of which helped shape the channel’s editorial direction.

In 1999, he also entered the political field, running as a candidate for the National Assembly of Armenia.

His approach to media has always combined creativity with strategic vision, turning “Shant” into not just a television company, but a platform for ideas and innovative formats.

He is interested in sports and music and speaks Armenian, Russian, and English.

Arthur Yezekyan is married and has two children.
